I have an interesting story when it comes to Facebook.

I joined a few years ago while I was still a college student. (Initially you had to be a student to register).

I got bored fast and didn't go back for a full year.

Then, Facebook opened its doors to the public. They got swarmed with new members and exploded to become one of the top 5 most visited websites online.

(The really cool thing about Facebook is the viral tools they use to add friends for you, they go as far as recommending you to others based on the friends you currently have.)

So, I started playing around there and added about 35 of my friends.

I got bored again and left for awhile.

I went back periodically to add new friends and realized that I had over 500 friends with no effort. They all came to me.

I joined MySpace before it became "hot".
